Hooray for Susan

Hooray for Susan! We think she is spectacular in every way.

Inland Pacific Ballet Recital

Today Claire, her mom Maria, and I went to the Inland Pacific Ballet Academy's Annual Recital "A Midsummer Night's Dream," which was held at Big Bridges. Claire was absolutely enchanted! The dancers ranged in age from 3 years old to adult. The costumes were beautiful and perfect for the various age groups. The audience was most appreciative and the dancers were obviously pleased with their warm reception. It was beautifully planned and choreographed and was a delight to the eyes, ears, mind, and heart.

Cleaning Out & Organizing

"But I want to keep it to remind me of such a special person/event/time/whatever!" It's fun to look at memorabilia from a special person or event or time or place, and smile with fond remembrance. It's another thing to be able to FIND that memorabilia. This is a constant struggle in my life and one for which I've yet to find a satisfactory solution. File folders? Good idea! But, how do you keep those organized - by person, event, year, ??? It's a perpetual conundrum. So, today I did some organizing, a lot of reminiscing, and some actual discarding. Do I still have a "ton" of stuff? You betcha! It will be fun to look at some of it the next time I get in "the organizing zone."

Claire Is Taking Ballet Lessons

Claire LOVES to dance and twirl and wear a tutu. Now she finally has a real reason to do so. She is taking ballet lessons.
She loves going each week and wearing her pink tutu and ballet slippers. She & the other girls twirl about with huge smiles on their faces.
It makes me feel good just to watch them.

The Advantium & The Wait

Things didn't go quite as planned and the Advantium oven that came wasn't the right one for our space or specifications. Therefore, the right oven will be here in a week or so. In the meantime.......

Our Advantium Oven - RIP

Right before Maria and Eric married in January of 2000, we redid our kitchen. It was and is perfectly beautiful, thanks to our friend Helaine. We discovered this "new" combo microwave/Advantium GE oven and fell in love. The "affair" has been wonderful for 10 years. This week it came to an end with a whimper. Within two hours, we had purchased a new one and it will be installed Friday. In the meantime, we've discovered how much we had come to rely on the "magical gifts" of the Advantium's talents and how our food purchases were so influenced by what it could do. Now, in a couple of days we'll be up and flying once again. Can't wait!!!

The Stomach Flu

There are a lot of yucky things in life, but I've got to admit that the stomach flu ranks right up there with the "yuckiest." We've been dealing with this in Maria's & Eric's family this week and a bit here at our house too. It just "ain't no fun" for anyone. Here's hoping that everyone is on the mend and that "the sun will come out tomorrow" .... or Monday. We all just want it to happen soon.
