Today "Dad" was sitting on the nest. He is more beautifully marked and bigger than "Mom." The squirrels have discovered the seeds that we put out for the doves. That was no surprise. When we first put them out, the bluejays were there to have first pick of the assorted grains. This picture is of the "Mom." It's dark, but I think if you click on it, you can see her alert "eye" as she watches for anyone who might disturb her nest.
Well I am curious. You must get a photo of Dad also. Do not get into trouble taking the photo, however. I will send you a lighter version. I am expecting photos of the babies as well.
